Leaves, Sticks, Rocks, and Pine StrawFor my project this week, I made Earth Art- at home! I wanted to make a teepee, so me and my little two sisters, Arianna (7) and Tiana (12), walked around our neighborhood and collected leaves, sticks, rocks, and pine straw to make it. It was lots of fun and we made a good team. Let's Roll!First off, we needed something to hold our collectibles! Tiana had to stay home, so me and Arianna were going out to get our supplies. I gave Arianna a bucket and I used a plastic bag, and we headed out. We walked to Kiwanis Park, and I picked out the branches and rocks, and Ari put the pine straw and leaves in her bucket. Arianna was our little photographer, and she took lots of pictures! When we were done, we walked back home. Building a homemade buildingWhen we got home, I got Tiana from inside and the three of us searched for a place to build the tepee. We found a nice spot by lots of trees and got to work. We tried pushing a stick into the ground and it was too hard! We didn’t know what to do until I realized that we could build the tepee on the table outside and THEN place it on the ground. Duh! So that's what we did. But we also had trouble with the pine straw. We needed to tie the sticks together in order for it to work, and the pine straw was too short and too hard. I said we should use a shoe lace, and it worked perfectly! It was a good experience All in all, it was a really good experience and will definitely be a memorable moment. It was even better doing it at home with my family, and my sisters and I we able to bond. It was nice getting off my phone for a few hours and going outside. It felt sort of like I was a little kid again! I definitely want to do more projects like this at home, even if it's on my own!
