I develop new art making skills! For my ceramic, I wanted to make something that would resemble me, something that someone could look at and KNOW that it’s mine without trying to think too hard to put all the pieces together. So I decided to make a self portrait. I made a chart about me (reluctantly) but it helped open my eyes to more ideas. Based on what I like, I wanted to make it look like an anime character, in a bathing suit and floatee (since I like to swim), wear running shoes (since I like to walk) and have her hair done like mine. It was a lot, so I made a rough sketch of what I planned for it to look like when I was done. Trial and error
The Grand FinaleI learned a lot of new techniques during this project. Typically, I don’t plan out my work and just shoot in the dark, but making a chart made the my art piece so much better than if I didn’t plan it out! I also learned how to use clay correctly. In the past I used clay, but it never turned out very well. I didn’t know I would be good at sculpting, but it turned out better than I expected! Final Product!
